What is Biodiversity?

Biodiversity (or biological diversity) refers to the variety of life. It includes all the millions of animal, plant and microbial species on Earth, and includes the diversity found between individuals of the same species (their genetic diversity), as well as the diversity between different species and of habitats and larger eco-systems of which they are all a part.

The status of Bermuda's biodiversity was assessed in the 2001 Bermuda Biodiversity Country Study.

A biodiversity snapshot was also captured in 2011 to be included in the UK Overseas Territories and Crown Dependencies Biodiversity Snapshot created by JNCC.
